Mentorship, Coaching & hiring - CISO/CTO & key staff

In 2024 & 2025 Greg designed and led the CISO Bootcamp training for RSAC in EMEA, putting together and chairing one day workshops for new CISO’s or those on a career path to being a CISO in the coming year. These workshops included topics on what to do in their first 100 days, engaging across the business, understanding their regulatory responsibilities and defining, testing and dealing with a cyber breach (IR).


During his career Greg has be responsible for on numerous occasions finding, interviewing and hiring the key talent for both his own and other teams across the cyber security business.   He has also been responsible for coaching & managing staff; and their performances.    


He has mentored sales staff, up and coming thought leaders and  aspiring CISOs both within the companies he has worked for and externally across the industry. Typically for the last ten years he has been mentoring two or more people at any time. 


During his time a Cybereason Greg lead the companies diversity program focusing on 3 areas (cultural, gender and neurodiversity - himself being dyslexic).


Greg has also mentored in his early career aspiring athletes, when he coached local, regional and national young snow ski racing talent.   


Typical Deliverables 

  • Help map employee's strengths and weaknesses in their current roles, and help define key areas for progress to becoming the effective CISO they employee and company desires.
  • Map out clear goals, agreed with the business to help develop the mentee
  • Help connect the employees to peers & peer groups/communities when required to help them test ideas and learn best practices 
  • Greg will meet monthly with mentees to review their progress
  • From a thought leadership perspective help identify where the employee should be active (which communities/forums/groups), support and mentor them in their initial content creation (whitepapers, blogs, media pieces)
  • From a hiring perspective Greg can help find C-level candidates from his network, he can also be a part of the interview process ensuring that the hire fits the profile of the business both from a skills and cultural aspect.
  • From a talent management perspective he can provide industry expertise on required skills, experiences and help verify both staffs capabilities and their credibility in the cybersecurity industry.
